Clapton Country Club has been carved out of an old Victorian Tram Depot in an area that is now brimming with creativity and regeneration. The area once was the domain of King Henry the VIII and considered one of the wealthiest areas of the country. Over the years its fortunes waned, but now it is on the up and attracting film makers from as far as Hollywood. Our space was featured in two films last year, the opening scene in ‘On Chesil Beach’ and the new Tomb Raider film where Lara Croft returns to her East London roots as a young woman.
